There are many reasons to stay at a Disney World Resort…the complimentary airport and theme park transfers, extra magic hours, food cost savings with a Disney Dining Plan, exceptional quality and service, immersive theming, etc…  While all of these are definite reasons my family loves to stay at Disney’s Resorts (and we’ve stayed in them all), one lesser known reason we love staying at Disney World are the array of family-friendly activities and programs offered each day…for FREE!

One of my family’s personal favorites are the daily pool parties.  During these parties guests can partake in games, contests and dancing, as little or as much as they’d like.  There are activities geared towards many age groups…I’ve even witnessed some serious adult competition when it comes to Disney Trivia! Are you up to the challenge??

In participating (or watching our children participate) in the various Disney Resort activities through the years, we have created some of our most treasured Disney memories.  One unanticipated (yet extremely valuable) outcome of our participation is that our family has met some really great people from all over the world, resulting in discusses with our children about other cultures and destinations.  Just another example of the “magic” Disney orchestrates.

There is no question that you will take away some wonderful memories when you participate in the Disney Resort activities…so have your camera ready…here are some shots of our family enjoying some of the pool party “extras” at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn…

So, when you need a break from the theme parks, head to your Disney resort where the party is waiting for you!

There isn’t a trip that goes by that my children don’t ask, “When are we going to play games at the resort pool?”, so I’m always sure to plan in time to enjoy our Disney Resort and I definitely recommend you build in some time to enjoy this lesser known benefit to staying at a Disney World Resort!  You’ll be happy you did!
