Typhoon Lagoon Reopens With Tidal Waves of Water Park Fun
LAKE BUENA VISTA Fla. (May 1, 2025) – Walt Disney World Resort guests are making an even bigger splash during their Walt Disney World visit with the reopening of Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park today.
The tropical oasis of watery fun began welcoming back excited guests May 1 to its variety of thrilling attractions and relaxing experiences, creating an extra wave of Disney magic to go along with their theme park adventures. Among the most beloved attractions are Crush ‘n’ Gusher, Miss Adventure Falls, Humunga Kowabunga and the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, plus the always soothing Castaway Creek, the scenic lazy river that flows around the entire tropical water park.
Ketchakiddee Creek always draws the young at heart, who gravitate to this water wonderland because of its shallow pools, mini waterslides and kid-friendly play areas. And there are plenty of shaded areas such as umbrella tables and Beachcomber Shacks, which are private, covered areas with coolers, chairs and more.
When guests aren’t frolicking in the surf, they can pose for photos with Stitch! He’s bringing his zany antics to the water park on various days throughout the summer. Guests can also munch on scrumptious menu items, such as turkey and cheddar sandwiches, chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches and the ever-popular Waterparks Sand Pail Sundae.
Light Up the Night with the Return of H2O Glow
Starting May 23, Typhoon Lagoon offers a glowingly fun option for families with the return of Disney H2O Glow After Hours, the popular series of glowing nights when the water park transforms into a high-energy, glow-in-the-dark experience. There will be DJ dance parties, neon lighting, Disney character meet & greets and complimentary snacks for a night full of colorful fun under the stars. And kids get in for only $42.50, half the adult price of $85. Tickets for H2O Glow After Hours, which runs May 23 through Sept. 13, are on sale now.
Double the Disney Water Park Fun
Guests will soon have the opportunity to double their Disney water park experiences when Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park reopens for the summer on May 21 after a brief closure on May 1, marking the first time since 2019 that Walt Disney World’s two water parks will be open at the same time. Blizzard Beach and its wintery theming invites guests to enjoy a unique mix of frozen fun amid warm waters that includes attractions and experiences for the entire family. The thrill-seekers can get an adrenaline rush on attractions such as Summit Plummet and the Downhill Double Dipper, while young families can have some relaxing fun floating down Cross Country Creek, playing in the Frozen-themed play areas of Tike’s Peak and splashing around in the heated waters of Melt-Away Bay wave pool.
Diving into either water park comes with a special offer that is sure to make a huge splash: Guests staying at a Walt Disney World hotel in 2025 get free admission to either water park on their day of arrival.
These splash-tastic deals and experiences are all part of a lineup of special offers, new shows and limited-time activities and entertainment coming to Walt Disney World this summer for families with kids.
