Which is the Best Stateroom on a Disney Cruise for Me?
Are you planning a Disney Cruise and need help choosing a stateroom? Whether it’s a quick 3-night Bahamian Cruise or a longer 11-night Mediterranean cruise, your cabin will be your home away from home and should be given careful consideration.
Small World Vacations can help you choose the best stateroom category (inside, oceanview, verandah, suite or concierge) for your party size, budget, needs and comfort! Some questions that we often hear from our guests include, “Which location/deck is best for my family? Will it be quiet? Will I feel motion? What is the bedding? Does it connect to another stateroom? Are the staterooms big enough for our family?”
Small World Vacations’ agents have sailed on over 600 Disney Cruises and are your best resource when planning your Disney Cruise. Our team of Diamond Level Authorized Disney Vacation Planners have unparalleled knowledge and experience to share with you. We can answer the questions you have as well as the ones you didn’t know you had!
Below, Small World Vacations agents share some great tips for selecting a stateroom:
From agent Marion: “My favorite deck to stay on is the children’s programming deck. There are fewer staterooms on those decks, so the stateroom area is normally pretty quiet. It’s also wonderful to be close to your stateroom if you have a sleepy little one; they get so heavy after a tired day at play!”
Oceanview Stateroom Disney Wish
From agent Jodie: “An Oceanview stateroom sometimes costs only a small amount more than an Inside cabin, and you get the split bath and a porthole window. It’s definitely worth comparing the two options.”
From agent Angela: “If you are prone to motion sickness, I recommend staying on a lower deck. Deck 2 is great for that, and offers staterooms with beautiful large porthole windows. And from there, it’s just one flight of stairs to the lobby and restaurants.”
Inside Stateroom
From agent Shannon: “Some guests want to avoid rooms near the elevators. However, I am a very light sleeper and I have never been interrupted by noise from the elevator lobby. It can actually be very convenient to be located close to an elevator. If you are located midship or aft, you can take a quick ride up (or take the stairs) to the Quick Service locations as well as the 24-hour self-serve beverage station.”
Verandah Stateroom
From agent Deanna: “Verandah staterooms provide fresh air and extra space to relax first thing in the morning or late at night when others in your cabin might be sleeping. Staterooms located on the starboard side of the ship typically have beautiful views of Castaway Cay because the ship backs into this port (this is not guaranteed; there are factors that may cause the ship to change direction).
From agent Carly: “If you’re traveling with a group, and are not able to find staterooms right next to each other on the same deck, look for staterooms in the same area, but on a deck just above or below. It can actually be closer and easier to get to each than being further apart on the same deck.”
From agent Leigh: “If a guest is concerned about motion sickness, I would advise not staying in the forward part of the ship where there can be more motion. It’s important to consider the itinerary, as well.”
From agent Deanna: “Staterooms located on the deck just beneath the pool deck may be noisy early in the morning when crew members are setting up the pool chairs. If you’re a light sleeper, you may be more comfortable a couple decks lower.”
