Disney Springs Holiday Moment Kicks off the Season at Disney World

It’s official! The holiday season is in full swing at Walt Disney World Resort, and we kicked off this most magical time of the year Thursday night with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Disney Springs.

Those that missed it can follow along to discover all the details from the special moment and all the ways guests and their families can continue to enjoy this wintry time of year at Walt Disney World!

Kick off the Holiday Season at Disney Springs

Guests at Disney Springs were treated to a special holiday surprise as they witnessed the countdown to the Christmas tree lighting! One lucky family was chosen from the audience to blow some pixie dust onto the tree, bringing it to life with twinkling lights and officially marking the start of the holiday season across Disney World.

The atmosphere embodied the true holiday magic at Disney with dazzling entertainment moments and the first night of our nightly snowfall in Town Center at Disney Springs.

Experience the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll presented by AdventHealth

The Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll presented by AdventHealth is back this holiday season! Guests can pick up a Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll Guide and visit the over 19 themed trees throughout Disney Springs.

As they stroll, guests can use the guide’s stickers to match the correct icon to each tree and bring it to one of the redemption locations for a special surprise (they should be sure to visit soon as supplies are limited).

This year, there are trees themed around fan-favorite movies and characters such as Pixar Animation Studios’ Coco, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Moana, and my favorite, The Princess and the Frog. And guests shouldn’t forget their MagicBand+, as some of the trees are interactive!

Catch Artist Showcases at the New Disney Enchanted Holiday Art Gallery

New at Disney Springs this holiday season is the Disney Enchanted Holiday Art Gallery! Guests can gift their family and friends original art, prints, and other types of artwork from 11 featured artists, most of which are Florida natives. The artwork scope is a broad range of many different art styles, various paint techniques, and items ranging from original art to canvas wraps.

Each artist showcases their artistic expertise with a blend of their own inspiration and their love for Disney. Featured artwork will include beloved Disney films and characters such as Mickey and Minnie, Alice in Wonderland, and Beauty and the Beast. Guests should be sure to check the schedule for artist signing events!

Snack and Sip on Festive Sips and Bites

Tucked underneath the spare airplane parts, salvaged equipment, and rugged holiday charm, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar has taken holiday decorating to the next level with festive holiday décor lining the walls, all from Jock’s collection.

For a charming cocktail and a blissful bite, guests should be sure to visit Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar for a holiday-themed menu through January 4, featuring classic sips and new bites like A Wreath of Wellington and the Boughs of Holly Deviled Eggs.

Those in the mood for something even sweeter can treat themselves to a tasty North Pole Bar at Amorette’s Patisserie or the Mickey Chocolate-covered Gingerbread Cookies at The Ganachery, or stop by Marketplace Snacks for the Sven Reindeer Food Waffle Sundae.

Meet Santa Claus at Disney Springs and More Holiday Entertainment

The fun doesn’t stop there! Roaming through the Marketplace at Disney Springs, guests will find DJ Sleigh serving up some holiday tunes, including seven new songs from the soundtrack of the Jonas Brothers’ new Christmas movie, A Very Jonas Christmas Movie, available on Disney+ and Hulu.

In addition, guests can keep an eye out for the Toy Solider Stilt Walkers and Drummers, the Holiday Skaters, and the legendary fan-favorite Douglas Fir to keep them entertained during their next holiday shopping trip to Disney Springs!

While visiting, guests can scoop up some top items from their Christmas List at World of Disney and make a stop at the holiday-themed window displays.

Before heading out to catch the nighttime holiday entertainment at Magic Kingdom or the holiday-inspired menu items across the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, guests should make sure to meet Santa Claus at Santa’s Marketplace for a final check of their Christmas wish list before they send it off to the North Pole (and they should be sure to use the My Disney Experience app to enter the virtual queue!).

Disney Springs is the perfect place for 2025 holiday fun, with something for everyone to enjoy on each trip! Plan holiday visits now for guests to load up on favorite items before January 4 for a holly jolly Disney experience!
