Fact Sheet: ‘Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular’ at Disneyland Park

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The heartwarming show “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” returns to Disneyland Park for a limited time as part of Pixar Fest at the Disneyland Resort, April 26-Aug. 4, 2024. Buzz Lightyear, 10-foot-tall “Coco” characters and many other new and returning Pixar favorites star in this stunning nighttime entertainment offering. After originally debuting in 2018, “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” has been enhanced with new scenes and characters in 2024, from films such as “Onward,” “Soul,” “Luca,” “Turning Red” and “Elemental.”

Sleeping Beauty Castle, the water screens of the Rivers of America, the façade of “it’s a small world” and the buildings of Main Street, U.S.A., come to life with special effects, a musical score and projections at various park locations. Iconic moments from the original production return with Buzz Lightyear soaring through the air and Carl and Ellie’s house from “Up” floating above Sleeping Beauty Castle. On most nights, sparkling fireworks add to the excitement.

New scenes and special effects in 2024

  • “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” features animated appearances by 17 new Pixar pals, including new emotions from the upcoming film “Inside Out 2,” in addition to many returning favorites.
  • Pulsing with colorful, dancing lights and vibrations, MagicBand+ will also be in sync with special moments throughout each performance of “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular.”

  • Celebrating the heart of Pixar storytelling, “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” takes guests on an emotional journey of friendship with their Pixar pals as they meet for the first time, set out on adventures, overcome adversity, and forge never-ending connections – together.
  • The nighttime spectacular opens with Buzz Lightyear, who flies 100 feet in the air above Sleeping Beauty Castle on a flight path that is 350 feet long.
  • The musical score for “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” features an orchestra composed of 185 musicians and 30 vocalists. The score incorporates popular songs from Pixar films, in addition to iconic instrumental themes.
  • Original arranger Mark Hammond, orchestrator David Hamilton and Disney Live Entertainment music producer Matthew Selby return for new tracks in the nighttime spectacular featuring music from “Soul,” “Onward,” and “Elemental,” as well as a reimagined finale with a newly recorded rhythm section and vocals. Culturally authentic instruments are featured in the musical moments from “Turning Red” and “Luca.”
  • “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” the hit song by Randy Newman from “Toy Story,” serves as the musical thread for the show. A custom arrangement of the song was made specifically for “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular.”
  • During the “Coco” segment, “The World Es Mi Familia” features music from authentic Mexican singers and musicians with the sounds of traditional mariachi instruments like the vihuela, guitar and guitarrón.
  • With the use of projection mapping, more than 300 Aliens from “Toy Story” appear on the façade of the buildings on Main Street, U.S.A., and Sleeping Beauty Castle during their moment in “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular.” The adorable green Aliens also appear on the façade of “it’s a small world.”
  • Colorful laser beams project down Main Street, U.S.A., in the scene where Jack-Jack and the Incredibles battle the Omnidroid on Sleeping Beauty Castle. Lasers are also used at the Rivers of America viewing location.
  • During the “Coco” adventure, 12 townspeople from the Land of the Dead appear on the rooftops of Main Street, U.S.A. Each of these characters stretches more than 10 feet tall and they join the animated mariachi and folklórico dancers projected on Main Street U.S.A., bringing scenes of a colorful fiesta to life.
  • Several objects have flown above Sleeping Beauty Castle in past nighttime spectaculars, and the largest one ever is in “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” – Carl and Ellie’s house from the film, “Up.”
