Small World Vacations’ Agent Jeanne’s Alaskan Cruise on the Disney Wonder

My husband and I flew into Vancouver, British Columbia the day before our Disney Alaskan Cruise. It’s a good idea to arrive early so you have time before your cruise to relax and do some sightseeing. We spent our first day in Canada in the beautiful and historical Stanley Park. There is so much to see and do in Stanley Park, we took the Horse-drawn carriage tour, stopping by some native hand carved Totem Poles.

We also  toured the Vancouver Aquarium, where we enjoyed watching different animals from the Pacific Northwest, especially the lively sea otters!

Time to board the Disney Wonder for our 7-Night Alaskan Cruise!!

We sailed into Endicott Arm for a good view of the natural wonder, Dawes Glacier.  Even with a little rain and fog, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking!

Our first stop on our Alaskan Cruise was Skagway. Here we had a chance to see the “locals” at play during our Evening Wildlife Expedition.  We saw over a dozen brown bears, harbor seals and eagles and they definitely did not disappoint!

Next stop – Juneau Alaska and the Mendenhall Glacier Explorer and Mount Roberts Tramway excursion.  We took a motor coach bus to the Visitor Center and then a mile walk out to Nugget Falls, where you could get a close look at the falls and Mendenhall Glacier, a sight you won’t soon forget.

Once back in town we took the Mount Roberts Tramway up 1,800 feet where we could get a birds eye view of Downtown Juneau and the cruise ship dock.  Even with the rain, this was a wonderful excursion!

Our final stop along our Alaskan Disney Cruise was Ketchikan. We were excited for our Port Adventure, the Wilderness Exploration and Crab Feast at George Inlet Lodge

We took a boat tour out to where the fishermen keep the crab pots. Watch out for those claws!

Along the way, the scenery was filled with natural waterfall, bald eagles and even an old Salmon Cannery.

After exciting excursions and unpredictable weather (which was great!!) it was nice coming back to our stateroom to discover a different animal towel waiting for us each night with our turndown service. Disney always adds those special touches to surprise and delight you.
